O.C.E.A.N. Hauling & Hotshot Ltd. was established in 1981 by Gord Cooper in Calgary, Alberta. Gord put his One Ton Ford F-350 with Gooseneck trailer to work hauling loads for equipment rental, construction, and oilfield companies in in Western Canada and the U.S.
With the economy booming and work in abundance, Gord called on other owner-operators to assist with his increased work load. In 1985 Bryan Crane joined O.C.E.A.N. with his One Ton Truck and Gooseneck Trailer. The same year Gord purchased his 1985 Kenworth W900 with 6.5 ton picker. Air Ride Lowbed Trailers were soon added to O.C.E.A.N.’s list of specialized equipment, which attracted more oversize specialty loads from a growing list of customers.
O.C.E.A.N. equipment was continually upgraded with 1990, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2003, and 2007 Kenworth trucks, and various types of Air Ride Lowbed Trailers. In addition to Bryan’s upgraded hotshot trucks and trailers, Gord began employing drivers in 1995 to operate a second O.C.E.A.N. Kenworth.
Rob McConnell now operates O.C.E.A.N.’s 2007 Winch Tractor, while Gord is still on the road with his 2003 Tridrive Kenworth with 15 Ton Hydraulic Picker. Bryan currently drives a 2005 One Ton Truck for pilot work, and also pulls a 40’ Tridem Air Ride Gooseneck Trailer. O.C.E.A.N.’s 2005 F-350 Pilot Truck is driven by Gord’s son, Matt Cooper.
For more than 27 years Gord Cooper has fulfilled his customers demands, going that extra mile, by planning and executing complex over dimensional moves, and assisting in site work with the use of Picker, Winch, and/or specialized Lowbed.
With over 75 years of combined driver experience and the use of modern specialized equipment, O.C.E.A.N. Hauling and Hotshot Ltd. is dedicated to safe and on time transport of delicate and oversize loads in Western Canada.
